Allocation of KUR Increases by More than 20%, BNI More Focuses on Working on MSME Business

Jakarta, 5 January 2022 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. (BNI) is optimistic that the distribution of subsidized credit or people's business loans (KUR) this year will move quickly in accordance with the growth desired by the government. The distribution of KUR is also in line with the government's target to increase the portion of banking MSME financing to 30% in 2024.

The Institutional Director of BNI, Sis Apik Wijayanto said, Government has set the limit of KUR for this year at Rp. 373.17 trillion, or 30.9% higher than last year's limit, which was Rp. 285 trillion.

The allocation of KUR for BNI has been announced, and the company received Rp. 38 trillion, an increase of 22.7% from last year's allocation of Rp. 30.95 trillion.

"We are quite sure that the distribution of KUR will be in accordance with the government's allocation. Moreover, we see BNI's KUR demand and performance are very good," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (5 January 2022).

Sis Apik said that the allocation of KUR for BNI will be used to help maintain the growth momentum of the BNI MSME segment, which is currently experiencing a strong increase in loan demand. BNI will also utilize the allocation of KUR to encourage the growth of small businesses in the commodity sector in 8 leading clusters.

This is in line with government’s direction to build a strong MSME industry through a cluster strategy. Through this strategic approach, we believe we can increase our contribution in encouraging the realization of the financing target for MSMEs by 30% in 2024 in accordance with what has been announced by the government.

Furthermore, Sis Apik said, BNI as an international bank has its own strategy in developing the MSME segment. The company focuses on encouraging MSMEs to go productive, go digital, and go global.

This means that BNI is more focused on improving the performance of MSMEs, encouraging this segment to advance to class, increasing its digital adoption and opening up greater opportunities for exports.

"BNI also encourages ecosystem-based and supply chain-based financing to ensure a more sustainable growth of MSME performance. We also have a coaching and development program for MSMEs to answer all the issues they face, including the credit process, technology, and business governance capability development," he said.

Three Focuses of BNI's Strategy

Sis Apik explained that BNI has 3 strategic focuses to encourage MSMEs to rise to the international level. First, empowering MSME Exports and Diaspora, where BNI not only works with MSME players to expand their business abroad, but also encourages business development for Indonesian citizens living overseas or known as diaspora.

Second, creating a superior business ecosystem. In line with the direction of the Ministry of SOEs, BNI will focus on working on 8 priority clusters, namely rice cluster, corn cluster, oil palm cluster, sugarcane cluster, citrus cluster, decorative plant cluster, coffee cluster, and porang cluster.

Third, establishing a Digital Value Chain, where BNI provides comprehensive support through financing up to mentoring BNI partners from upstream to downstream.

Through BNI Xpora, Sis Apik said that BNI is a one stop shopping solution hub in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo, Denpasar, Surabaya, Medan and Makassar and digital portal. "We also have fast and quality services, easy and integrated financial solutions, non-cash transaction solutions that will be very helpful," he said.
