Indonesia has managed to become a country that is able to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that has been running for more than two years. In fact, Indonesia successfully hosted the G20 Summit held in Bali.
The successful organization of the G20 shows Indonesia's readiness to invite the entire world community to work together, support each other to recover together, and grow stronger and more sustainable.
The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment together with the Ministry of SOEs through the SOE Foundation for Indonesia organized the Humanitarian Award Night as a form of government appreciation for various philanthropic actions in overcoming COVID-19. The awards, which were given to individuals, private companies and SOEs, took place at the G20 event, a side event of the G20 Summit, at the Merusaka Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (17/11/2022).
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI was the state-owned bank that received the historic Award. BNI Corporate and International Banking Director Silvano Rumantir was present directly representing the company.
Silvano said that the company always strives to provide maximum support to the government, especially in overcoming the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, as a state-owned bank, BNI has a greater obligation to be able to maintain economic stability by carrying out various humanitarian programs.
"We greatly appreciate the award given to us. Of course, we will continue to increase the support that has been realized so far, not only to cope with the impact of the pandemic, but also to support economic strengthening with various assistance programs for the society," he said.
As for the special humanitarian program for handling the Covid-19 prevention pandemic through early detection examination assistance are in the form of PCR swab tests, provision of prevention tools to residents and health workers such as masks, personal protective equipment, hand washing equipment, etc.
There is also assistance for treatment and handling in hospitals in the form of detection equipment, and Covid-19 laboratories and operational assistance for health workers. BNI also actively distributes vaccination assistance, as well as providing special waste bins for mask waste. The company also provides ambulance assistance for handling Covid-19 patients.
"Apart from that, we have several other humanitarian programs such as appreciation for honorary teachers, and appreciation for midwives and nurses who are all struggling at the forefront during the critical times of the pandemic," he concluded.
