BNI Finances Indonesian Diaspora in Hong Kong

29/02/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has again extended credit facilities to diasporas overseas. This is done as a form of BNI's consistency in carrying out its mandate as a state-owned bank that goes global.

This time BNI provided a diaspora loan to Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita, a network of Indonesian product stores in Hong Kong. The loan was handed over by BNI Network & Services Director Ronny Venir and witnessed by the Executive Head of Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision, Consumer Protection and Protection Education, Financial Services Authority (OJK), Frederica Widyasari Dewi.

Ronny Venir stated that Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita exemplifies the success of the diaspora in promoting Indonesian products to global markets.

BNI is also committed to consistently supporting diaspora business expansion to further develop and add value to Indonesian MSME products.

“This Diaspora loan is one of BNI's steps in exploring business potential, both from abroad to Indonesia and from Indonesia to abroad,” he mentioned.

The owner of Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita, Phang Tjhung Phin, said that his business has been operating since 2013. According to him, the existence of Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita makes it easier for Indonesian diasporas to get products from Indonesia, especially culinary products.

To date, Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita has 7 store chains in Hong Kong. This store has become a source of pride for the Indonesian community in Hong Kong.

Toko Indonesia Kampung Kita has also become a center of activity and daily life that nurtures a sense of familiarity and togetherness. With a collection of Indonesian products that are rich in cultural diversity and artistic beauty, the store brings a hometown feel to the daily lives of Indonesians in Hong Kong.
