In the fifth phase of groundbreaking in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also carried out the groundbreaking process to start the construction of the BNI Bank Office building in the Mini Financial Center IKN area, Thursday (29/2/2024). Jokowi said that the Mini Financial Center area will later become a financial and banking industry cluster.
“And, I am happy that Bank BNI is building digital banking here to encourage our society to really run everything to things related to digital,” said Jokowi. In his opinion, economic transformation in the nation's capital must indeed encourage all parties to shift from old economic patterns to new economic patterns. The reason is, he considered that the global economic landscape has completely transformed.
“The global political landscape is also changing. Geopolitics has also changed. So whatever, the Nusantara Capital City must be part of Indonesia's economic transformation,” firmly said Jokowi. As for the construction of the BNI office at IKN, citing information from the IKN Authority, this building will later carry the concept of blended with nature. Adapting to the surrounding environment, with a design that responds to the contours of the land, the flowing river, and the natural vegetation around it.
Phase I of this development is expected to be completed in 2026, including digital branches and Drive Thru ATMs. With this step, BNI and the IKN Authority are trying to start efforts to answer the needs of banking services in the archipelago. Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono said that the construction of the BNI Office building in IKN is a joint step to play an active role in supporting the progress of the development of the new capital city.
“The BNI building in Nusantara is expected to be the starting point for the formation of a banking ecosystem that is not only efficient, but also environmentally friendly and modern in the region,” said Bambang.
