(7/6/2024) - JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI through BNI Xpora sent 12 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in food and beverages to attend the Indonesia in Korea - Seoul Food & Hotel (SFH) 2024 exhibition. SFH is South Korea's largest food show, providing a strategic platform for Indonesian SMEs to enter the worldwide market.
BNI's participation in "Indonesia in Korea - SFH 2024" is a continuation of the synergy and collaboration between government elements and SOEs to promote Indonesian products in the export market.
BNI has previously successfully held "Indonesia in SG" in Singapore in April 2024, collaborating with the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and the Ministry of Trade through the Singapore Trade Attaché Office.
BNI Retail Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said that participation in SFH 2024 is BNI's commitment to support Indonesian SMEs in increasing their competitiveness and penetrating the international market, especially South Korea which has great potential.
"We are optimistic that the superior products from these 12 selected SMEs will attract buyers’ interest in South Korea and can increase exports of Indonesian food and beverage products," said Corina.
SFH 2024, which is held at Kintex, Seoul, South Korea, from June 11 to 14, 2024, is an ideal platform for global professionals and F&B industry players to establish connections and business opportunities.
BNI collaborates with Bank Indonesia (BI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KBRI Seoul), and the Ministry of Trade (ITPC and Seoul Trade Attaché) to present the "Indonesia Pavilion" in Hall 4.
This pavilion opens access for BNI, BI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Attaché to South Korean importers, distributors, hotel business players, restaurant owners, and retailers looking for food and beverage products, hotel products and food services, and food ingredients.
SFH 2024 offers business matching services to connect foreign exhibitors with local buyers, thereby opening up commercial opportunities and access to the South Korean market for SMEs.
The products dispatched by BNI Xpora have gone through strict curation by the Seoul Trade Attache and local curators to ensure suitability for the South Korean market. There are 12 selected SMEs with snack products such as chips, sweet snacks, nuts, spices, canned food, processed fish, processed fruit, and processed coconut.
Zelda Wulan Kartika, Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, stated that SFH 2024 allows SMEs to promote superior food and beverage items to foreign countries while also increasing international transactions. Furthermore, it is projected to boost exports to South Korea and other countries.
"Participation in SFH 2024 is a manifestation of the synergy and commitment of BNI, the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, the Ministry of Trade, and Bank Indonesia to increase national exports. The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul is ready to fully support the efforts of BNI and BNI Xpora in encouraging exports of Indonesian products to South Korea," explained Zelda.
After Indonesia in Korea - SFH 2024, BNI Xpora will continue its series of participation in various other international exhibitions to support Indonesian SMEs Go Global.
