11/09/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has once again shown its commitment in supporting the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The support is mainly provided through strategic steps in digitizing access to financing.
For this mission, the latest news is that BNI has collaborated with PT Amartha Mikro Fintek (Amartha). Amartha is a financial technology (fintech) company, to strengthen digital financial inclusion and literacy among MSMEs, especially in areas that still lack banking access.
The Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between BNI and Amartha, signed on September 4, 2024 at Menara BNI Pejompongan, Jakarta, is an important milestone in BNI's efforts to expand the reach of financing to remote areas of the archipelago.
In a statement in Jakarta (September 11, 2024), BNI Retail Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said, this collaboration is one of the strategies in providing access to financing to MSME players, especially in the micro business segment which has been underserved by the banking sector.
Through this synergy, BNI utilizes collaboration with Amartha to strengthen financing penetration to business groups in rural areas. These business groups are classified as unreachable because they do not meet banking requirements.
“This is part of our efforts to encourage National MSMEs to Go Productive, Go Digital, and Go Global,” said Corina.
This cooperation is expected to open up great opportunities for thousands of micro businesses, mostly managed by housewives in various regions, to get additional capital more easily and quickly.
In the meantime, Amartha Director Budhi Siswoadji added, this collaboration with BNI will not only facilitate access to capital for micro businesses, but will also help accelerate the digitization process of MSMEs throughout Indonesia.
“This collaboration opens up opportunities for thousands of home-based businesses to grow faster with more accessible capital assistance,” said Budhi.
In the future, the collaboration between BNI and Amartha is expected to increase scaling impact, accelerate the digitization of MSMEs, and encourage more inclusive and equitable economic growth.
This step is part of the big vision towards achieving a golden Indonesia 2045, where people's welfare is expected to be more equitable with the support of an inclusive economy.
