PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI expressed appreciation for the success of the Indonesian men's doubles pair, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, who triumphed in the China Open 2025 tournament. This achievement serves as a tangible proof of the importance of continuous development in producing outstanding athletes.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that this achievement aligns with BNI's commitment to supporting the national sports development.
"We congratulate Fajar and Fikri on their outstanding performance in the international tournament. This is the result of a consistent long-term development process," said Okki.
BNI, as the official sponsor of the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), continues to commit to supporting the improvement of national athletes' achievements thru various training programs, both at the junior and senior levels.
"We believe that with the right support, young Indonesian athletes can continue to develop and compete on the world stage." The victory of Fajar/Fikri is a concrete example of that spirit," continued Okki.
In the final match held at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, on Sunday (27/7/2025), Fajar/Fikri performed solidly against the Malaysian pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik. They won in straight sets with scores of 21-15 and 21-14.
This victory marks an important moment for Indonesia's men's doubles sector. Interestingly, the opposing pair they faced is now coached by an Indonesian coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, who also once trained Fajar and Fikri at the national training center.
The title won by Fajar/Fikri at the China Open 2025 further strengthens BNI's optimism regarding the prospects of Indonesian men's doubles in future international badminton tournaments.
