Bandung, 13 October 2019 — The implementation of BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 successfully held, participated by 6,000 runners. Runners in the 200K Individual category, 200K Relay 2, 200K Relay 4, 200K Relay 9, and 200K Relay 18have started to start on Friday (11 October 2019) at BNI Head Office at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jakarta. Meiman Hasrat Waruwu won the Men's 200K Individual category. While Eni Rosita won the Women’s 200K Individual category.
"This is the second time I have participated in BNI ITB Ultra Marathon. After last year I only won the 2nd place, finally this year I managed to reach the target to be the first to reach the finish line. I keep getting excited while traveling from Jakarta to Bandung, so that I don't experience any obstacles on the way, "said Meiman Hasrat Waruwu.
"The preparation that I did before joining BNI ITB Ultra Marathon was physical training and regular eating so that I could maintain my body condition in accordance with the training we do every day. I hope that BNI ITB Ultra Marathon can continue to be held, so that all people who have a hobby of running can channel their talents by competing," added Meiman Hasrat Waruwu who is a member of the army from Arhanud 14 Cirebon unit.
Eni Rosita, who won in the Women's 200K Individual category, said, "The preparations that I did ahead of BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 were routine training and maintaining proper eating patterns. I always run near my home or sports field. Finally, after three consecutive years starting from 2017, I won BNI ITB Ultra Marathon. Hopefully this event can continue to be carried out and get better in the future."
Attending the event were the Indonesian Minister of SOEs, Rini M Soemarno, the President Director of BNI, Achmad Baiquni, the Institutional Relations Director of BNI, Adi Sulistyowati, the Rector of ITB, Kadarsah Suryadi, the Chairperson of Solidarity Forever Foundation, Susilo Siswoutomo, the Chairperson of ITB Alumni Association Ridwan Djamaluddin, the Chairperson of the ITB Ultra Marathon Committee, Gatot Sudariyono, and the Board of Directors of BNI. Adi Sulistyowati who is familiarly called Susi said, "We are very happy to be able to re-collaborate with ITB in implementing a healthy lifestyle in the community with sports, BNI ITB Ultra Marathon for the third time. Through sports we can learn about sportsmanship and never give up. I congratulate all BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 participants who have reached the finish line."
"Since 1968 BNI has been at ITB, BNI has always supported the development of this Ganesha campus. In addition to supporting the implementation of the BNI ITB Ultra Marathon, in this year's competition we also gave appreciation by handing over the BNI ITB Card. This organization also welcomes the century of ITB in 2020," added Susi.
The Indonesian Minister of SOEs, Rini M Soemarno participated and run together with the 5K Fun Run category participants of BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 with the start route at Plaza Cikapundung River Spot until finish at ITB Main Gate at Jalan Ganesha, Bandung.
On BNI ITB Ultra Marathon this time, ITB alumni of the Marathon participants also encouraged to participate in providing donation for ITB Endowment Funds which minimum amount is Rp300,000,-. BNI also participated in donating for ITB Endowment Funds amounted to Rp 250 million which is expected to continue to be able to support the development of education in the ITB Campus environment.
