Solo, 21 June 2019 --- Efforts to advance the Agriculture sector and strengthen the Food Security program in Indonesia continue to be echoed by various parties from various sectors. This time, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI supports the collaboration between the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) and Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in realizing assistance for food farmers. The assistance provided is in the form of on-farm management, utilization of modern land management and cultivation technology, and management of post-harvest handling.
The collaboration of the three institutions began along with the Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Cooperation and Harvest Prime Rice, which was attended by Ikatani, Bulog, BNI, and the Faculty of Agriculture, UNS in Solo, on Friday (21 June 2019). Present on the occasion were the Managing Director of National Logistics Agency, Komjen Pol. (Ret.) Budi Waseso, the UNS Chancellor, Jamal Wiwoho, the MSME Business and Network Director of BNI, Catur Budi Harto, the General Manager of Small Business Division 2 BNI, Bambang Setyatmojo, as well as more than 250 Farmers.
On that occasion, BNI distributed People’s Business Credit (KUR) to Farmers. The KUR increased the portfolio of KUR BNI distribution in 2019, where as of 31 May 2019, KUR distributed by BNI reached Rp 8.23 trillion and touched 95,728 KUR beneficiaries throughout Indonesia.
Catur Budi Harto stated, BNI's role in this movement was intended to ensure that farmers get access to cheap, easy financing, accompanied by adequate assistance. This process will be more effective with the support of Bulog and UNS.
"This cooperation is expected to be one of the supporting programs of the government in an effort to increase farmer productivity, income distribution, and poverty alleviation. BNI will continue to channel financing for all farmers to create prosperous and sovereign Indonesian farmers," he said.
On this event, BNI given CSR aids in the form of 2 Handtractors to Farmers in that area. This equipment will make it easier for farmers when cultivating land on their agricultural land.
