Jakarta, 25 June 2020 --- It is not easy to run a business in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic. At least that's what Joko Fitra, an SME actor said. Since the end of March 2020, when Kebumen Regency was designated a Covid-19 red zone and large-scale social restrictions were put in place, the implementation of health protocols in the stores and environment was carried out strictly.
Joko said, at that time, his turnover dropped dramatically because of reduced sales. This is difficult because at the same time he still has to fulfill operational obligations, including installment obligations to bank. "I am still paying the installments. At first, I just resigned, how should I pay the installments?" he said with a serious expression when he was visited last week.
Luckily, during this pandemic, BNI was responsive and quickly carried out the government’s mandate to provide stimulus for debtors affected by Covid-19.
Since April 2020, BNI Kebumen officers have socialized the policy. "Fortunately, the policy is made, so that I get an interest waiver. Alhamdulillah. I was just about intended to propose credit looseness, BNI has preceded with the policy. We really need something like this in difficult times," he said.
When the turnover decreased, fortunately, Joko ran a partnership with BNI as an Agent46 and distributor of social assistance in the form of non-cash food assistance. "From there, I still get an additional fee whose value is not exactly small because non-cash transactions are also increasing," said the medium-bodied man, who did not forget to wear mask when interviewed.
The Director of Micro, Small, and Middle Enterprises (MSMEs) of BNI, Tambok P. Setyawati conveyed, since the mid of March 2020, BNI provided stimulus to debtors who met the provisions, in the form of interest waivers, delays in principal installments, and extension of credit term. In total, as of 19 June 2020, BNI had provided impact stimulus due to Covid-19 to 183,359 small and micro segment debtors with a loan portfolio of Rp 24,333 trillion.
