Third Round of BNI Indonesian Masters, Puig Surges and Jonathan Secures Position

18/11/2023. David Puig Currius was able to shoot in round 3 of BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE 2023. However, Gaganjeet Bhullar was still able to lead the score until the third round of this international golf tournament.

Jonathan Wijono secured his spot as Indonesia's representative in the finals.

Puig scored a total score of 13 strokes under par 200 in round 3 of this world-class golf tournament. With a total score of 4 under 67 and par in the previous 2 rounds, Puig suddenly shot with 9 under 62 on Saturday (18/11/2023).

It was his best performance since he joined professional golf in September 2022. The Spanish golfer said that he did not want to be complacent, especially when the title race in the final round.

"I've only been in the professional class for a year. I haven't participated in many events yet. I must continue to hone my skills. Moreover, there are still many great senior golfers. Of course, tomorrow I will make it better,” said Puig.

Furthermore, Puig listed the BNI Indonesian Masters, produced by TNE, as one of the best golf circuits.

"BNI Indonesian Masters, presented by TNE, boasts exceptional administration and amenities. This event is also well-known, with several world-class golfers participating. This tour, with a total prize of US$ 1.5 million, is an excellent competition," he said.

Bhullar, shot an 8 under 63 for a total score of 20 under 193 in the third round.

It will be difficult to match Bhullar's total, but other players, particularly Puig, may pose a danger to take the event's trophy.

From Indonesia, Jonathan, who is familiarly called Jowi, was stuck at 5 under. In this third round, he was only par with a bogey on hole 2 and a double bogey on hole 5.

Luckily, the golfer known as Jowi made up for it with three birdies on the 6th, 12th and 14th holes.

"My game appeared just on the 6th hole. I lacked patience before. That was the factor that slowed my heat response. Jowi added, "I really have to keep my emotions in check so that I don't get too aggressive when calculating the shots."

Jowi also confessed that the audience's support during the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE, was a source of encouragement for him. He hopes that in the final round, more people will support him.

"As we approach the final stage, I plan to correct my faults, particularly my hitting time. I'll be more relaxed towards the final stages. Although I do not consider the competition on the field, I am determined to increase my score collection at the famous BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE 2023," he concluded.
