BNI Prepares IDR23.97 Trillion in Cash Ahead of Eid 2026

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, prepares IDR23.97 trillion in cash to meet public transaction needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri. This measure is being taken to anticipate a surge in cash withdrawals and transaction activity ahead of the peak Eid homecoming flow, which will occur from March 11–24, 2026.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the provision of liquidity has been adjusted to the projected increase in community needs during that period.

"BNI ensures liquidity and network service readiness so that the public can transact safely and conveniently during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," Okki said in a written statement.

Of the total funds allocated, IDR16.64 trillion is allocated to replenish Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Cash Recycling Machines (CRMs). Meanwhile, another IDR7.33 trillion is allocated to meet transaction needs at branch office outlets.

BNI estimates that the need for cash during this period will reach approximately IDR 1.71 trillion per day. This projection takes into account the increasing trend in consumer transactions, including the disbursement of holiday allowances (THR), Eid shopping, and preparations for the homecoming trip.

To support services during the Eid holiday, BNI will also operate branch offices on a limited basis on March 20, 2026, with 23 outlets, and on March 23, 2026, with 32 outlets.

The limited operational services are open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM local time and handle specific transactions such as Pertamina fuel deposits, Bulog, state revenue, inter-BNI account fund transfers, as well as cash deposits and withdrawals.

In addition to its branch office network, BNI optimizes the BNI Mobile Service (O-Branch) placed in several strategic locations such as travel routes, tourist areas, and crowded spots. The company also relies on more than 217 thousand Agen46 spread across Indonesia to bring banking services closer to the community.

On the digital side, BNI continues to encourage the use of the wondr by BNI application, which has been used by 12.7 million customers by the end of February 2026. Thru the application, the public can perform various transactions such as fund transfers, bill payments, purchasing necessities, and monitoring expenses without having to visit a branch office.

"We are committed to providing optimal services through the synergy of physical and digital networks so that customers' banking needs during the homecoming and Eid al-Fitr period are well met," concluded Okki.

With liquidity readiness of nearly IDR 24 trillion and the support of an extensive service network, BNI ensures that the public's transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid 2026 can be met smoothly, safely, and in an integrated manner, both through physical and digital channels.
