BNI Provides Healthcare and Trauma Healing Services for Communities Affected by the NTT Disaster

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to provide support to disaster-affected communities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) by providing health services, trauma healing facilities, clean water, and logistical support in a number of affected areas.

One form of this support is provided through the "BNI Berbagi BUMN Peduli NTT" command post at Berdikari Field in Danga, Mbay. This post offers health services, trauma healing facilities, evacuation tents, clean water, and logistical support to the community during the emergency response and recovery phases.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that this move is part of BNI's efforts to respond to the public's needs in stages, in line with evolving post-disaster conditions.

“We will continue to distribute aid in stages, adjusting to the evolving needs on the ground. Through healthcare services, trauma healing, and support for other basic needs, we hope the affected communities will receive the necessary assistance throughout the emergency response and recovery phases,” said Okki in a written statement.

Trauma healing facilities have been established as part of psychosocial recovery support, particularly for children and vulnerable groups. These facilities are intended to provide a safe and comfortable space for the community to receive support and to help restore emotional well-being following the disaster.

In addition, BNI is providing health check-up services, clean water, and stocks of essential supplies to help meet the needs of the community in the affected areas.

To support service delivery and operations in the field, BNI has also set up tents in several areas, including Maumere, Kewapante, Ritapiret, Cibal, Ruteng, Borong, and Mbay.

The placement of tents is tailored to the specific needs of each location, including supporting healthcare facility operations and public services, as well as providing temporary shelter for residents.

Previously, through the BNI Berbagi program, aid for basic necessities had reached Ende, Borong, Labuan Bajo, Maumere, and Ruteng. This support was provided in stages to help the community and displaced persons meet their daily needs during the emergency response period while also supporting the recovery process.

Okki added that BNI would continue to coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure that the support provided aligns with the community's needs. Periodic evaluations are also being conducted to determine the form of further assistance as the situation evolves.

“BNI, together with other state-owned enterprises, will continue to be present and coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure that support is provided effectively and delivers tangible benefits to the affected communities,” said Okki.

As part of the state-owned enterprise (SOE) ecosystem under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, BNI continues to fulfill its social role by supporting the community in facing emergencies and post-disaster recovery processes.

This commitment is in line with the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara in BNI's 80-year journey to continue to serve wholeheartedly and provide benefits to the community and the country.
