Supporting the World of Education, BNI Hands Over Teacher Training and Financial Literacy Certificates for Students

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has once again showed its commitment to advancing the world of education in Indonesia. Collaborating with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), BNI distributed teacher training certificates and financial literacy seminars in 5 provinces in Indonesia, namely DKI Jakarta, Pekanbaru, East Kalimantan, Bali and East Nusa Tenggara.

A total of 1,000 teachers from 513 schools received certification from the 3-month training program. The training, which aimed to improve teacher competency, was part of BNI's ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. "We hope that teachers who have participated in this certification program can become role models for other teachers and are able to produce quality graduates," said BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in a press release, Monday (18/11/2024).

Besides that, BNI also supports the OJK program in improving public financial literacy and inclusion by expanding access to bank financial products and services. On that occasion, BNI also hosted a seminar on financial literacy and inclusion which was attended by almost 1,500 students. "The material presented included financial planning, the dangers of fraudulent investments, illegal online loans, and prevention of online gambling," said Okki.

Deputy Director of Behavioral Supervision of PUJK, EPK, OJK Jabodetabek and Banten Province Office, F A Purnama Jaya appreciated BNI's initiative in providing financial education to the younger generation. This is in line with the objectives of the National Financial Intelligence Movement (GENCARKAN) program by OJK through synergy with all stakeholders. "We hope that activities like this can continue to be carried out to protect the public from various types of fraud in the financial sector," said Purnama.

In line with Purnama, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office also expressed appreciation to BNI and OJK. "This activity is very useful for improving education considering that Teachers and Students are also quite active in following technological developments so it needs to be anticipated with financial education like this," said Purwosusilo.
