Jakarta, 1 May 2020 --- One more new policy from Bank Indonesia (BI) came into force on 1 May 2020 is the Policy on Credit Card Implementation during Covid-19 pursuant to the letter of BI No. 22/263/DKSP/Srt/B dated 15 April 2020. BNI responds this policy by alleviating various matters related to Credit Card billing.
The relief provided is to reduce interest, from 2.25% of the total bill, as of 1 May 2020 to 2% of the total bill. With this new regulation, 2.25% interest will still be applied for bills for transactions made until 30 April 2020. Furthermore, new interest will be applied for bills for transactions made on 1 May 2020.
Another relief is to reduce the Minimum Payment percentage on printed bills from May to December 2020 to 5% of the total bill, from initially 10%.
For customers who are late in paying bills, there is also relief of late fee or additional value of the bill that will appear if no payment is made, or payment is less than the minimum payment, or payment after due. Per 1 May 2020, 1% Late Fee is charged from the Total bill or maximum Rp 100,000,-. Initially it was set at 3% or maximum Rp 150,000.
BNI also provides an Empathy Program to BNI Credit Card holders in the form of extension of payment term for customers affected by Covid-19 pandemic. For this relief, customers can contact BNI Call 1500046.
The Consumer Business Director of BNI, Corina Leyla Karnalies in Jakarta, Friday (1 May 2020) said that the ease of payment is the form of BNI’s concern to BNI credit card holders and follows up the provisions of BI. "The facilities can strengthen the financial safety net of BNI Credit Card holders and increase their economic buffer during this Covid - 19 pandemic," she said.
