Heroic Spirit, Hibank is Present to Support MSMEs #everydayhiro

13/11/2023. As a subsidiary of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BNI), PT Bank Hibank Indonesia (hibank) always strives to realize its role as a national Development Agent. One of these realizations was carried out through the transformation of Hibank into a digital banking service provider with a focus on the MSME segment.

With the slogan "UMKM First Bank", Hibank has set its vision to become the Leading MSME Digital Bank in Indonesia and the mission to empower MSMEs through Hibank's role as an orchestrator of the Indonesian MSME ecosystem.

In line with the momentum of commemorating Indonesian Heroes' Day on November 10 2023, Hibank launched a new campaign, namely #everdayhiro as part of a transformation branding series carried out by Hibank.

Jenny Wiriyanto, President Director of PT Bank Hibank Indonesia explained, "Through this #everydayhiro campaign, Hibank intends to raise the heroic spirit carried out by the company to represent the heroic spirit of every child of the nation, especially MSME players, in contributing to national economic growth.

Hibank is determined that its existence must be a solution for MSMEs in developing their businesses to be bigger and better." Together with tens of millions of MSMEs, Hibank is determined to advance the people's economy.

"MSMEs are the pillars of the nation's economy, contributing greatly to National GDP (which is around 66%) and absorbing almost 99% of the workforce in Indonesia. "So, at this moment of Heroes' Day, we make #everydayhiro our intention and the opening door for us to together give birth to many economic heroes who will continue to advance the Indonesian economy," concluded Jenny.

As reported in the MSME Empowerment Report 2022, MSMEs in Indonesia are still facing various challenges in developing their businesses. This includes business marketing, access to production materials, technology adoption, transaction processes, and cash flow management.

On top of that, the challenge of strengthening MSME performance still revolves around the low level of financial inclusion in this segment, or in other words, many MSME players still do not have access to adequate banking services.

"Hibank's efforts to increase funding allocation and present digital banking services that are relevant to the needs of MSMEs are important steps in improving financial inclusion, especially for MSMEs that are still underserved by banks but have the potential to grow. We are also committed to being a partner in connecting with providers of solutions and services needed by MSMEs through the formation and empowerment of ecosystems, so as to help answer the challenges in MSME business development. This is what drives us to introduce hibank's role as an orchestrator of the Indonesian MSME ecosystem."

Recent data shows that the entity formerly known as Bank Mayora has shown an allocation of funding to MSMEs. As of October this year, hibank has disbursed 31.8% of its total loans, or approximately IDR 1.74 Trillion.

This achievement is in line with hibank's plan to increase the portion of lending to the MSME segment to 45% by 2024.

“hibank hopes to walk together with all stakeholders in advancing the people's economy. Along with the spirit of Heroes' Day today, Hibank encourages economic heroes to continue to be enthusiastic, collaborate, and synergize to build the Indonesian economy,” Jenny concluded.

On this occasion, BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the future of banking is digital, and BNI is committed to ensuring that every customer can get integrated financial solutions every day.

“With hibank, we want to help MSMEs upgrade by working to provide them with access to more efficient and comprehensive banking services,” Okki concluded.
