PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues its commitment to empowering women, both within the company and nationally through various initiatives.
This step is in line with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises' initiative to support President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita program to strengthen human resource development.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo conveyed that the company's commitment can be seen from the composition of female employees at BNI, which is currently recorded at 52.01% compared to male employees of 47.99%. Moreover, more than 25% of female employees at BNI serve in the position of SVP.
“BNI has implemented gender equality as part of strengthening human resources, where gender is not a barrier for women to continue working and contributing to the nation,” Okki said in an official statement.
Okki explained, BNI also implemented an Accelerated Career Track policy to encourage the career advancement of female talents and increase their representation at the leadership level. This policy has succeeded in increasing the proportion of female talent at the leadership level from 30.9% in 2023 to 31.2% in 2024.
In addition, BNI implements the Employee Assistance Program Facility to support the holistic health of employees including physical, mental, social, and financial as well as the implementation of flexible working arrangement policies.
Equally important, the company has Srikandi BNI as a forum for creativity for BNI employees to build awareness of all parties about competency-based career development and employee performance without distinguishing gender status.
According to Okki, the formation of Srikandi BNI is a form of BNI's commitment to implement the spirit of women's leadership so as to have a positive impact on the advancement of women through their characters, namely caring, inspiring, and collaboration, which are important values for an organization.
For this reason, BNI is committed to creating a respectful work environment by rejecting all forms of harassment and discriminatory acts in the workplace or in work-related activities.
“BNI does not tolerate all forms of violations related to harassment and discriminatory acts and all violations can be reported through channels such as the Whistleblowing System (WBS) or directly to the Line Manager / Unit Leader,” said Okki.
