PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI was included in TIME magazine's 500 best companies in Asia Pacific.
In the report resulting from TIME's collaboration with Statista, BNI was ranked 282 out of a total of 500 companies with an overall score of 81.57.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, this record is proof of world recognition of BNI's performance as a global bank.
“BNI's achievements are inseparable from the support of all great talents within BNI and also the Ministry of SOEs which places BNI as an Indonesian bank that goes global,” Okki said in an official statement.
The statistical ranking of the 500 best companies in Asia-Pacific, published by TIME and Statista, is based on a research formula that includes revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys, and rigorous data on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG or sustainability).
The employee satisfaction aspect was evaluated using survey data from employees around the world.
This evaluation included assessments of the company covering image, atmosphere, working conditions, pay, and equality by verified employees as well as direct and indirect recommendations.
Then for the revenue growth aspect, it was assessed using data from Statista's revenue database which contains company growth data for the last three years.
Companies must meet predetermined criteria to be evaluated.
The financial statements studied must be able to show positive revenue growth within the study period.
Meanwhile, the ESG and sustainability aspect measures sustainability transparency based on standardized KPI data from Statista's ESG Database and targeted data research.
To formulate a comprehensive ESG index, several data points were collected to assess and evaluate the three aspects of environment, social and governance.
The environmental evaluation covers the intensity and extent of carbon emission reductions as well as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) rating.
Social evaluation assesses the number of women on the board and the existence of a human rights policy.
While the governance evaluation evaluates whether the company has a corporate social responsibility (CSR) report that follows the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and compliance or anti-corruption guidelines.
