SOEs Fight Covid, Here’s the Latest Overview of BNI Assistance

Jakarta, 11 August 2020 --- Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia has affected various aspects of people's lives. Since the beginning of the virus, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. has distributed assistance to all corners of the country to ease the burden on the people affected by Covid-19. The series of BNI activities were carried out as part of #BUMNPerangiCovid spirit.

BNI’s Corporate Secretary, Meiliana mentioned, until August 2020, BNI has realized Covid-19 special assistance through BNI Berbagi Program. "We are distributing the assistance needed for medical personnel and the general public in preventing the spread of this virus," she said in Jakarta, Tuesday (11 August 2020).

Meiliana explained that the assistance was in the form of 74,768 personal protective equipment (PPE), 465,918 masks, four PCR detection devices, three ambulance units, 3 ventilators and 1 freezer storage unit, 12,317 gloves, thermo guns, and vitamins. In addition, there were also 4,637 units for hand washing needs, including 279 sinks and 4,358 hand sanitizers of various sizes as well as two RNA extractor units and 7,500 rapid tests.

In the effort to assist in the early detection of Covid-19, BNI Berbagi has also carried out Covid-19 detection activities by carrying out 18,500 PCR tests in various cities throughout Indonesia, including Jakarta, Padang, Palembang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, East Java, Banjarmasin, Bali, and will continue in other cities until it reaches 30,000 PCR tests.

We also provided direct assistance in the form of food packages to people affected by Covid-19. Until now, BNI has distributed 135,806 food packages," said Meiliana.
