BNI Investor Daily Summit 2023: BNI Unveils Strategies for Taking MSMEs to the Global Stage

26/10/2023. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to innovate in developing digital products so as to maximize services to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in order to upgrade and go global.

BNI Consumer Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said, MSMEs are one of the segments that BNI continues to strive for to be able to carve out positive performance.

“As a state-owned bank, of course, we are always proactive in innovating so that we can always encourage the performance of MSMEs to increasingly support Indonesia's economic growth,” she said at the BNI Investor Daily Summit 2023, in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/10/2023).

Corina elaborated that BNI helps introduce Indonesian MSMEs to the global market amid the increasingly massive development of the digital economy.

BNI is shifting services from conventional to digital so that business continues and is done not only for individual customers through BNI Mobile Banking, but also corporate customers through BNIDirect.

Through this transition, the company sees an increase in BNI Mobile Banking users *up to 23.3% on an annual basis to reach 14.9 million users in June 2023.*

“Seeing this, we realize that the function of banks is to provide access to customers, both individuals and companies, whether opening accounts and financing, how to open easier access to banking,” she said.

Not only that, Corina said, the company continues to innovate banking products by adjusting customer needs. BNI is also proactive in providing financial literacy to more Indonesians, especially MSME customers.

Corina stated that BNI offers BNI Xpora services exclusively for MSME players and diasporas who wish to expand their business capacity and focus on exports. BNI provides solutions through a readily accessible website.

"We also help by facilitating business matchmaking. For example, we have signed an agreement with KOIMA in Korea, where we will bring our MSMEs to meet 70 business people and conduct business matching," she said.
