26/10/2023. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is proactive in supporting the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by inviting participation in various major agendas.
In the BNI Investor Daily Summit 2023, at least five MSMEs fostered by BNI Xpora and two MSMEs fostered by a subsidiary, PT Bank Hibank Indonesia, showcased at Hutan Kota by Plataran Jakarta, October 24-25, 2023
Indonesian President Joko Widodo had the opportunity to visit and taste the products of BNI-fostered MSMEs, and was welcomed directly by BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar.
The five MSMEs were Mahorahora Bumi Nusantara, a producer of palm sugar, Cau Chocolates, a producer of cocoa and chocolate, Inni Pioneer Food Industry, a producer of canned food and beverages, PT Retota Sakti, a producer of natural fiber home decor, and Sweet Shabrina, a producer of art crafts. There were also two hibank-fostered MSMEs, namely MSME Kriya Hi Batik, a batik producer, and Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia.
He explained that the participation of BNI-fostered MSMEs in this agenda is in order to provide wider market access to MSMEs in Indonesia so that they have the opportunity to meet and have dialogue with investors.
"We include our fostered MSMEs to introduce local products to investors, while also allowing them to figure out market gaps and opportunities. We always aim to provide adequate opportunities for MSMEs to get exposure at big events so that they can upgrade and go global,” he said.
Royke said that the MSMEs included in this event are MSMEs that are ready to expand their business to the international level. For example, Mahorahora MSME has exported its products to Singapore and New Zealand.
Currently, Mahorahora has been fostered by BNI Xpora. Mahorahora has participated in Food Expo exhibitions in Hong Kong, South Korea to New York. In addition, Cau Chocolates MSME have conducted regular exports to destination countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Japan and Qatar. Cau Chocolates continues to strive to expand the market to foreign countries. Currently, Cau Chocolates has become a BNI Xpora foster. Cau Chocolates products have participated in exhibitions and business matching such as Xpora Fest 2022 exhibition, to Food Expo in Hong Kong, South Korea and Tokyo.
Another MSME that is also preparing to expand its market to foreign countries is Inni Pioneer Food Industry. Currently, its products have been exported to various countries such as America, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Greece and France. Inni Pioneer Food Industry has been fostered by BNI Xpora and has received various exhibition opportunities at food expos in South Korea and Hong Kong. In addition, this fostered MSME also obtained business matching opportunities with several prospective buyers.
Next, Retota Sakti MSME also ready to expand its business to the global market. Its products have penetrated the export market to various countries such as America, England, and Japan. Furthermore, Sweet Shabrina MSME has also marketed its products to foreign countries by participating in exhibitions in Japan.
Meanwhile, the hibank-fostered MSME, Hi Batik, displayed other products such as tableware, necklaces, pendats (brooches), and shoes. In adding to that, Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia is a fostered MSME consisting of people with disabilities so that they can be independent.
“These MSMEs are clear evidence of BNI's seriousness together with all subsidiaries, especially hibank, in helping local business people to penetrate the global market and compete with other countries' products,” said Royke.
