17/11/2023. The second round of BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Tunas Niaga Energi (TNE) 2023 was able to present a fierce match between international and national golf athletes.
Gaganjeet Bhullar (India) was still in the lead. Kevin Akbar finally made the cut, joining Jonathan Wijono, and will represent Indonesia in the last two rounds.
Bhullar was still the best in this prestigious golf tournament by packing 4 strokes under par with 67 strokes. In total, he posted 12 under 130.
Bhullar admitted that his performance this round was not as good as the previous round. However, it did not affect his concentration.
“I will continue to work on solutions to find a formula so that I can maintain the game,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Richard Taehoon Lee (Canada) was likely to be a formidable competitor. Lee finished these two rounds with a score of 9 under 133. In fact, this score was boosted by 1 eagle on the 12th hole, 3 birdies, and 1 bogey.
Kevin also felt the excitement in the second round of the BNI Indonesian Masters this time. He admitted that he could actually enjoy the game more in this second round.
The Indonesian golf athlete entered the second round with a capital score of 2 over 73. He managed to score 4 under 67. With a total of 2 under 140, Kevin passed the cut off, along with Jonathan who scored a total score of 5 under 137.
"During the second round I got caught up in a lot of thoughts. Luckily I was able to stand up and play calmly. It's amazing to be able to continue until the final round in a prestigious tournament such as BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE this year,” concluded Kevin.
