05/01/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesiaa (Persero) or BNI continues to strengthen its position as an international bank. This is marked by BNI's plan to add overseas offices (KLN) by 2024.
BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said, currently BNI has 7 Branch Offices spread across London, New York, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam. The plan, BNI will add Branch Offices in two countries, namely the United States (US) and Australia.
"We currently have 7 outlets in 7 countries. Next year, we plan to open one or two more outlets, especially in areas that are not yet covered, such as Australia. We also hope to get permission to open outlets in the western part of America in the near future," Royke said.
Royke also explained, a number of strategies have been implemented by BNI to encourage international banking performance, including providing financing to key customer segments connected to Corporations and subsidiary groups of debtors' businesses abroad, SME (Small Medium Enterprise), Global and regional MNC (Multinational Corporation).
In addition, the company has a customized financing scheme that includes a supply chain scheme for the debtor's global network as well as guaranteed Head Office loans to support corporate debtor financing in Indonesia.
"BNI has also established an International Desk unit as a special unit that handles international companies that invest in Indonesia or have operations in Indonesia," he explained.
The performance of international banking is still one of the main sources of BNI's business in responding to current global growth opportunities. As of the third quarter of 2023, BNI Branch Offices have disbursed loans of IDR 21.77 trillion or grew 10.8% on an annual basis (Year on Year / YoY).
"We are very delighted where BNI Branch Offices have been able to record good credit which will benefit a boost to BNI Group’s performance. We are optimistic that this credit trend will continue to grow positively," he said.
