BNI and Indonesian Embassy in Seoul Socialize Financial Solutions for Indonesian Diaspora in South Korea

18/03/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI proactively continues to support the needs of the Indonesian diaspora as foreign exchange heroes, openers of trade routes, and ambassadors of Indonesian culture abroad.

As a manifestation of this commitment, BNI organized the Indonesia Inc. Forum: Accelerating Financial Inclusion for Indonesian Diaspora in South Korea. The event, which was held in Seoul on Wednesday (13/3/2024), aims to introduce the Diaspora Saving product which facilitates the opening of accounts for Indonesian diasporas holding Indonesian Community Cards Overseas (KMILN).

Present at the event were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and BNI Deputy President Commissioner Pahala Mansury, Ad Interim Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul Zelda Wulan Kartika, and BNI Wholesale & International Banking Director Agung Prabowo, as well as East Asia Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arifianto Sofiyanto.

According to BNI Wholesale & International Banking Director Agung Prabowo, the diaspora in partner countries plays an important role in the Indonesian economy.

Therefore, BNI as the Indonesian International Leading Bank designated by the Ministry of SOEs to be a solution for the banking needs of the Indonesian diaspora, is committed to encouraging increased financial inclusion and literacy for the Indonesian diaspora by presenting Diaspora Saving products.

“BNI is grateful for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that the Diaspora in South Korea who have KMILN can open BNI Diaspora Saving account,” said Agung.

Agung conveyed that BNI, which currently has 7 Overseas Offices, one of which is in South Korea, namely BNI Seoul Branch, is ready to help the diaspora to gain financial access to Indonesian banking solutions. He also believes that the program will open up the potential for wider cooperation between the Indonesian economy and the world economy, especially South Korea.

On this occasion, BNI also introduced BNI Mobile Banking as a solution to digital banking needs and presents a more Wonderful transaction experience. BNI Mobile Banking allows diaspora customers to explore numerous features of transactions, payments, and investments through BNI Mobile Banking.
