BNI Expo 2024, a Business Matching Event for MSMEs with Foreign Buyers

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is increasingly massive in encouraging Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their business to the international market.

Through BNI Expo 2024 which took place for three days at Hall 1-3A ICE BSD, Tangerang, from Friday to Sunday, August 2 - 4, 2024, BNI brought together 160 MSMEs with potential buyers from abroad such as Singapore, Australia, Canada and Japan both online and offline.

Some of these MSMEs can be found in the UMKM Island at the exhibition which carried the theme “Wonderful Journey”.

The products of interest to potential buyers include coffee, palm sugar, dried fruits, coconut milk powder, seasonings, instant noodles, Javanese noodles, telang tea, and jute bags.

The follow-up to the Business Matching that has been carried out includes sending quotations to prospective buyers, sending samples to export destination countries and visiting agendas in October 2024 from several prospective buyers.

On that occasion, potential buyers from Singapore also visited offline to explore chocolate drinks, fashion, and handicraft products.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo shared that the presence of MSMEs at this event aimed to introduce their products to potential buyers from abroad.

“Through this business matching, we hope that buyers from these countries will be interested in marketing Indonesian MSME products to their markets,” Okki said.

Okki explained that BNI not only provides opportunities for MSMEs to introduce their products, but also facilitates them in expanding their market through BNI Xpora.

BNI Xpora will continue to support the export of local products by utilizing BNI's outlet network in various countries, including Singapore, Seoul, Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, London and Amsterdam.

“This is one of our ways to help local MSMEs penetrate the global market,” Okki added.

In addition, BNI Expo 2024 also presented various attractive promos from MSME tenants. For example, Roemah Kebaya Vielga offers shopping vouchers of up to IDR 300,000. There was also Latazha which offered discounts of up to 20% with a minimum transaction of IDR 2 million.

In addition, there was also Lusee, which offered a 25% discount on all items when using BNI Cards and QRIS wondr by BNI. Rendang Uni Tutie also offered IDR10,000 discount for a minimum transaction of IDR150,000. At Ataly Coffee tenant, there was a bonus of one cup of coffee with a minimum purchase of IDR200,000 at UMKM Island.

With this business matching, BNI is optimistic that Indonesian MSME products will be increasingly recognized and in demand in the global market.
