06/08/2024. JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI again shows its commitment in encouraging the growth of Indonesian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to penetrate the international market. This time, through the BNI Xpora program in collaboration with BNI New York Foreign Office, bringing home textile products from its fostered SMEs, PT Retota Sakti, to show off in the United States market.
Retota Sakti, a company that has been in the textile industry since 1988, has been selected to participate in the Shoppe Object NYC 2024 exhibition which took place on August 4-6, 2024 in New York City. The exhibition was one of the largest trade shows in North America featuring around 700 craft and home décor brands and was expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that Retota Sakti's participation in this exhibition was the result of a rigorous curation process that had been carried out since last March. “We hope that this participation is not only a promotional event, but can also open wider business opportunities for Retota Sakti in the US market,” said Okki.
BNI Xpora, as BNI's business incubator, plays an important role in facilitating Indonesian SMEs to go international. Through a comprehensive mentoring program, BNI Xpora helps SMEs prepare themselves to face competition in the global market, from product development, branding, to marketing.
With its participation in Shoppe Object NYC 2024, Retota Sakti was expected to expand its business network, gain new buyers, and increase exports of Indonesian textile products to the United States. Retota Sakti's natural textile products have great potential to attract American consumers who are increasingly concerned about environmentally friendly and sustainable products.
“Retota Sakti's participation in the Shoppe Object NYC 2024 exhibition is clear evidence of BNI's commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesian SMEs and strengthening Indonesia's position in the global market. By successfully penetrating the US market, Retota Sakti is expected to inspire more Indonesian SMEs to go global,” Okki concluded.
