PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI appreciates the achievements of two Indonesian men's doubles pairs, Fajar Alfian/M. Rian Ardianto and Sabar K. Gautama/M. Reza Pahlevi who succeeded to the semifinals of the prestigious Indonesia Open 2025 badminton tournament.
In the face of fierce competition, both demonstrated exceptional performance and remarkable consistency. This achievement shows Indonesia's position as a major force in the badminton world and is proof of the continuous development of national athletes.
"We are proud to be part of the journey of these great athletes. Our support through cooperation with PBSI is a form of commitment to advancing Indonesian sports on the world stage," said BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in a written statement.
Fajar Alfian, born in Bandung on March 7, 1995, started his career at legend Taufik Hidayat's club. After appearing in the Suhandinata Cup 2013, Fajar was left out of the national team, but was recalled by PBSI in 2014 as an apprentice and was immediately paired with M. Rian Ardianto.
Meanwhile, Rian Ardianto, who was born in Bantul on February 13, 1996, entered the national team in 2014. Initially paired with Royita Eka, Rian had penetrated the final of the junior world championship before finally forming a solid duet with Fajar Alfian.
The Fajar-Rian duo immediately stole the spotlight after winning the gold medal at the International Challenge Indonesia 2014 tournament. Since then, both have become mainstays of the Indonesian men's doubles in various international events, including the Malaysia Open and now the Indonesia Open.
Apart from Fajar-Rian, a brilliant performance was also shown by the young pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Muhammad Reza Pahlevi. They managed to penetrate the semifinals after defeating some tough opponents and showed great potential as Indonesia's men's doubles regeneration.
"BNI will continue to fully support PBSI in fostering young talents who excel. This is part of our contribution to producing world champions from Indonesia," Okki added.
BNI-PBSI synergy is expected to continue to produce reliable athletes who make the nation proud.
