Another proud achievement has been made in the world of Indonesian badminton. The PBSI Pelatnas women's singles athlete, Putri Kusuma Wardani, successfully finished runner-up at the Hylo Open 2025, which was held in Saarbrücken, Germany. This achievement also confirms the success of developing young Indonesian athletes under the auspices of the All-Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) with full support from PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said Putri's success was a source of pride not only for the world of badminton, but also for Indonesia's young generation.
"BNI is very proud of Putri Kusuma Wardani's achievement. This achievement is not only a matter of pride for the world of badminton, but is also a symbol of the never-give-up spirit and hard work of young Indonesians. We hope that Putri's success can motivate other young athletes to continue to excel at world level," said Okki in a written statement.
Putri Kusuma Wardani is the only representative of Pelatnas PBSI who managed to reach the final of the Hylo Open 2025 tournament. This achievement confirms her work as Indonesia's best women's single at the moment, as well as a symbol of the regeneration of young athletes who have successfully penetrated world competition.
Putri's career journey is quite brilliant. In early 2025, she made history as the first Indonesian women's singles player to win a medal at the BWF World Championship after a decade-long wait since 2015. Her consistency and good performance continues to this day, where Putri is ranked 7th in the world and is Indonesia's number one women's singles player.
This athlete, born in Tangerang, July 20, 2002, has shown great potential from a young age. At the age of 18, she made history by winning the BWF World Tour Super 300 Spain Masters, which was the starting point for the rise of the Indonesian women's singles sector on the international stage.
As PBSI's main partner, BNI consistently supports the coaching and development of young athletes. This support focuses not only on completing goals, but also on building the character, sportsmanship and worldwide competitiveness of Indonesian athletes.
Okki noted that BNI's commitment to the world of sports is part of the company's role as an agent of development, which actively contributes to developing the potential of the nation's children in various fields, including sports.
"BNI will continue its role in supporting PBSI and all national sports people. We believe that continuous development and support from various parties will produce more outstanding athletes like Putri Kusuma Wardani in the future," he concluded.
Through ongoing synergy with PBSI, BNI is determined to continue to be part of the journey to birth the golden generation of Indonesian badminton. It is hoped that this support will be able to maintain the tradition of achievements and make the Red and White name proud on the world stage.
