BNI Received Appreciation from the Ministry of SMEs for Encouraging Businesses to Enter the Global Market

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI's efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs have once again received recognition from the government. At the Inspirational Entrepreneurship Appreciation 2025 event held in early December, the Indonesian Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) awarded BNI the title of Entrepreneur Hub Collaborator, in appreciation of the company's contribution in supporting MSMEs to move up the ladder and go global.

BNI Commercial Banking Director Muhammad Iqbal said the award was a form of recognition of BNI's consistency in providing financing solutions, education, and assistance to MSMEs through the BNI Xpora platform.

"BNI greatly appreciates the collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of MSMEs, which continues to encourage innovation and sustainability among business actors. This recognition provides additional motivation for us to continue our mission of supporting MSMEs to advance and expand their penetration into the global market," Iqbal said in a written statement.

On the same occasion, BNI Xpora's MSME partner, PT Azaki Food Internasional, also received an award in the FinImpact Entrepreneur category. The company has successfully penetrated the global market with tempeh products exported to 12 countries, including Japan, South Korea, China, the United States, and the Netherlands.

Iqbal explained that BNI's initiative through Xpora is designed to provide comprehensive support, starting from export training, product curation assistance, market access through nine BNI overseas branch offices, to digital services such as wondr by BNI, BNIdirect, and TapCash which help MSMEs operational efficiency.

This appreciation was given in a ceremony at the JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Center, Jakarta, which was attended by thousands of participants in a hybrid format from various sectors, including financial institutions, the business world, entrepreneurial communities, universities, and inspiring entrepreneur nominees from across Indonesia.

The event was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar as the keynote speaker. Indonesian Minister of MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman emphasized the importance of growth and sustainability in entrepreneurship amidst global economic transformation, which must be supported by innovation, digitalization, and sound business governance.

Encouraged by this achievement, BNI reaffirmed its commitment to expanding support for national MSMEs by strengthening export capacity, improving digital literacy, and providing broader access to financing. "We are optimistic that MSMEs will continue to be the driving force of the national economy, and BNI is ready to be a key partner for MSMEs to advance and go global," Iqbal concluded.

With a more focused strategy and cross-institutional collaboration, BNI hopes that the role of MSMEs in the global economic chain will become stronger, while also contributing significantly to Indonesia's economic growth.
