PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) strengthens its support for Indonesian students pursuing their education in Hong Kong through a collaboration with the Indonesian Students Association in Hong Kong (PPI-HK).
This support was embodied through the hosting of the PPI Hong Kong 2026 Pre-Departure Gathering at the Menara BNI Pejompongan Ballroom in Jakarta on Saturday (1/8/2026). The event was attended by over 400 prospective students, parents, mentors, and PPI Hong Kong committee members.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that enhancing the quality of human resources is a key factor in strengthening Indonesia's global competitiveness. Consequently, the company continues to foster collaborations to support the readiness of young people who will pursue their education abroad.
“BNI believes that Indonesia’s younger generation has great potential to compete on the international stage. Through our collaboration with PPI Hong Kong, we aim to serve as a partner that supports them from the preparations for their departure through to their life as students abroad,” Okki said in a written statement.
During the event, participants received orientation on academic life and daily life in Hong Kong. Prospective students also had the opportunity to share experiences with upperclassmen and build a network before their departure.
The orientation is expected to help students understand their new environment, prepare for their studies, and adapt to life abroad.
BNI and PPI Hong Kong had previously collaborated through the PPI Hong Kong Member Co-Branded Multicurrency Debit Card affiliate program. The program was designed to facilitate transactions and expand access to financial services for Indonesian students and the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong.
According to Okki, easy access to financial services is a key factor in supporting the global mobility of the Indonesian people.

Support for Indonesian students abroad is also part of BNI’s commitment to providing relevant financial solutions while building relationships with the Indonesian diaspora.
This commitment is in line with the direction of the transformation of state-owned enterprises under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, which emphasizes the creation of added value and benefits for the community and the nation.
Through collaboration with PPI Hong Kong and other stakeholders, BNI strives to support Indonesian students’ readiness to navigate a global educational environment while strengthening the development of high-caliber and competitive human resources.
