PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, through BNI Private, won the "Best Private Bank in Indonesia" award at The Asset Triple A Private Capital Awards 2026, organized by The Asset.
The award was accepted by BNI Hong Kong General Manager Farid Faraitody during a ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel Grand Ballroom in Hong Kong. This achievement reinforces the recognition of BNI's capabilities in developing wealth management and private banking services for its customers.
BNI SEVP of Wealth Management Steven Suryana stated that the award serves as an appreciation of BNI's efforts to develop BNI Private in order to meet the needs of high-net-worth individual (HNWI) customers.
"This award is an honor for BNI and serves as recognition of our efforts and commitment to developing BNI Private services. This achievement is also a result of the trust placed in us by customers and partners, as well as the dedication of the entire BNI team in delivering increasingly better service to our customers," said Steven in a written statement.
Driven by the "Beyond Wealth" spirit, BNI Private focuses not only on financial asset management but also strives to partner with customers in planning and preserving their wealth and legacy across generations.
BNI Private’s performance also shows positive growth. As of August 2026, BNI Private client savings grew by 51% year-on-year (YoY), while assets under management (AUM) increased by 18% YoY and the number of customers rose by 10% YoY.
BNI’s wealth management business is also growing across various customer segments, driven by the transformation of digital services. Through *wondr by BNI*, customers can access and transact in a range of investment instruments digitally within a single application.
As of August 2026, the number of customers new to investment increased by 63% year-on-year. Mutual fund transactions grew by 187%, with transaction volume rising by 71%, driving a 115% year-on-year increase in mutual fund AUM.
According to Steven, this growth reflects the expanding public need for wealth management and investment services that are easily accessible and aligned with each client's financial goals.
Strengthening the wealth management business also aligns with BNI’s transformation trajectory as a state-owned enterprise (SOE) within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. BNI continues to bolster its business capabilities, digital services, and international network to enhance competitiveness and deliver increasingly comprehensive financial services to diverse customer segments.
This transformation is also part of BNI's efforts to maintain healthy and sustainable business growth and to strengthen the company's contribution to the national economy.
The Asset Triple A Private Capital Awards 2026 also marks a milestone in BNI’s eight-decade journey of serving the Indonesian people and economy.
In line with the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara, BNI will continue to strengthen its wealth management services, digital capabilities, and international network to support customers' needs in managing and growing their wealth sustainably.
