Jakarta, 21 August 2019 --- Indonesia is always hunger for achievements in football, so that all efforts to print the seeds of talented young footballers will continue to be needed. One concrete step to produce quality footballers was carried out by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) together with the Vamos Indonesia Foundation.
BNI ensures, Vamos Indonesia’s fostered children, namely 19 young footballers must depart to Spain. They are the footballers who have been filtered to be the best of 1,000 other registrants. The release of the BNI Vamos Indonesia Team was held at Menara BNI Pejompongan, Jakarta, Wednesday (21 August 2019), witnessed directly by the Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Rini Soemarno, the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrawi, and the President Director of BNI, Achmad Baiquni.
Achmad Baiquni said that BNI becomes the first SOE that follows up the Presidential Instruction Number 03 of 2019 which instructed integrated efforts to improve national and international football achievements through Talent Development and the support of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). BNI is committed to supporting efforts in preparing talented football teams, so that Indonesia can compete in world-class competitions such as the Olympics in Paris in 2024 and the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada in 2026.
"BNI facilitated the sending of 19 young footballers to Spain to join the Palencia soccer school to receive training to be involved in football matches in the European League. This is the first stage and is expected to continue rolling so that there will be many excellent Indonesian footballers born. Thus, these footballers will be 'Heroes' for the Indonesian National Team and make Indonesia proud in international forums," Baiquni said.
The Vamos Indonesia Foundation itself has tangible programs since 2016 include to searching for Indonesian talented football athletes professionally in collaboration with football schools in Spain. The foundation also consistently sends the selected seeds of talented footballers to football schools in Spain such as Palencia, Santander, Cordoba for 2 years and competes in the Spanish leagues.
The selection results of the BNI - Vamos Indonesia team that will depart for Spain this time are the best athletes from various regions to the eastern part of Indonesia. The eastern representatives of Indonesia included Yehezkiel Nababan, born in Jayapura, Fairuz Zaman Ohorella, born in Masohi, and Muh Sarhan Albar, born in Pangkep, South Sulawesi.
