Jakarta, 5 April 2021 -- PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) collaborates with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) in implementing the Digital Value Chain for financing distributors who are partners of SIG. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), especially cement and non-cement distributors, so as to form a closed loop ecosystem in the GIS business chain. The collaboration between the two SOEs will open up financing opportunities of up to Rp 2 trillion which can help increase the SME business.
The collaboration between the two SOEs was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the President Director of BNI, Royke Tumilaar and the Managing Director of SIG, Hendi Prio Santoso. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the relationship between BNI and SIG, especially in the SME segment. Among others, BNI has an integrated digital value chain solution for empowerment and capacity building that supports the business of SME partners of SIG.
"With the management of distributors and the SIG business increasingly updated, BNI comes with digital solutions and financing to SIG Partners through special schemes, at competitive rates," he said.
Optimal value chain management is very important because every company strives to maintain its business continuity by increasing efficiency and profit through reducing costs and optimizing working capital. Working capital optimization is currently being carried out through cash flow management and accelerating cash-conversion-cycle both on the corporate side and its Corporate Partners (Distributors). "BNI provides superior integrated transactional solution services through value chain financing facilities using the BNI FSCM (BNI Financial Supply Chain Management) platform." he said.
BNI has digital-based and integrated services and forms a closed loop ecosystem, namely Integrated Cash Management, API open Banking, online trade finance services, online bank guarantees, BNI Mobile Banking, payments via EDC and QR code, e-payments and many other BNI digital services.
On the same occasion, the President Director of Semen Indonesia, Hendi Prio Santoso said, the quite challenging economic conditions during the pandemic, requires the Company to optimize working capital through cash management by accelerating the cash convertion cycle both on the side of the Company and GIS Partners. One of them is through host-to-host digital solutions for financing SIG Partner Distributors at competitive rates and light collateral solutions. Other advantages include transparency of document and cash flow, in real time, more flexible disbursement process, easy reconciliation and administration of billing documents, paperless, and safe.
"With SIG’s domestic cement sales target in 2021 of 35 million tons and the sales launch of cement derivative products and other building materials in Q2/2021, the potential for Distributor financing to SIG Partners is still quite large," said Hendi.
