Balikpapan, 17 August 2019 --- In commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) synergized with PT Pindad and PT Dirgantara Indonesia through the SOE Present for the Country (BHUN) Program provide clean water and house renovation in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
The clean water assistance was inaugurated by the Deputy of Financial Services, Survey Services and Consultants of the Indonesian Ministry of SOEs, Gatot Trihargo, the Vice President Director of BNI, Herry Sidharta, the Managing Director of Dirgantara Indonesia, Elfien Goentoro, and the Defense & Security Products Business Director of Pindad, Heri Heriswan in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan on Saturday, 17 August 2019, witnessed by the Board of Directors and Commissioners of BNI.
Inauguration of the clean water facilities was conducted after the Flag Ceremony to commemorate the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which was held at BNI Branc Office Pandansari in Balikpapan.
Herry Sidharta said, the clean water facilities are constructed in 6 locations, one of them is in Sepinggan Village, Balikpapan. The aid is provided as the local inhabitants only depend on rain water to fulfill their daily needs.
"Jointly with BNI, Pindad, and Dirgantara Indonesia also provided House Renovation to Bapak Darman. Before receiving the aid, Bapak Darman’s house’s floor was made of wood and has no ceiling. In some parts, the wooden wall is also peeled off. Now, the whole house has been repaired. Ceramics and ceilings have been installed and the entire wall has been repaired and painted. In total, we carried out house renovations for 30 houses of employees and the community," Herry said.
BNI, Pindad, and Dirgantara Indonesia as a whole also provided CSR assistance in the form of 150 units of MCK facilities, electrification to 150 houses, as well as scholarships for 75 children in East Kalimantan Province.
