Jakarta, Sunday (30/10/2022) -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI continues to encourage the development of Indonesia's tourism ecosystem and sustainable economy in Indonesia's tourism areas.
Through BNI's Kawasan Wisata Anak Negeri (KAWAN) program, the company focuses on 3 (three) locations, namely, Cunca Wulang Labuan Bajo Village, Kuta Lombok Village and Marinsow Likupang Village.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that through KAWAN BNI, the company hopes that the management of the Indonesian Super Priority Destinations tourism sector can be more sustainable by carrying out governance, tourism products, as well as empowering regional communities.
Moreover, BNI is a state-owned bank that is committed to uniting values together with stakeholders to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"KAWAN is a program that has been running for almost a year. We are grateful that this program has received a very good reception and we can continue to implement it more aggressively in the future," he said.
Okki said that KAWAN BNI conducted various trainings for the village community, especially for Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) and other parties directly involved in the tourism industry in these 3 locations.
The training provided is mindset building, governance training, and entrepreneurship training. In the future, with the development of potential attractions and the capability of the village community in managing the tourism ecosystem, BNI will conduct more advanced training for the village community.
Okki said, BNI is committed to continuing to assist the community at the KAWAN BNI location so that they can develop their respective regions for the next 2 to 3 years. The company will begin from community development (people) to village attractions (product) which will lead to the attractiveness and economic performance of the community at the KAWAN BNI location.
"In addition to focusing on development and training, we have also provided assistance in the form of road infrastructure improvements and infrastructure facilities such as support in the KAWAN BNI area," he concluded.
