Jakarta, Friday (24/2/2023) -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI is proactively strengthening digital solutions in the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). The company supports the concept of Indonesia centric by realizing Smart Village housing with a digital ecosystem concept for construction workers.
This step has been realized through collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), where BNI created a digital concept by preparing a multifunctional card that can be used as a means of payment and transactions at the HPK (Construction Worker Housing) location.
The Company is currently developing several infrastructures including the use of financial transactions to support the digital ecosystem through BNI multifunctional cards. This multifunctional card can be used for salary payroll, payment tools, insurance, and others. The cooperation was initiated by the visit of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Thursday (23/2/2023).
BNI Network & Services Director Ronny Venir said that the relocation of the capital city to Nusantara is a step by the government to build a new work culture, thinking, and economic base. This is an opportunity for BNI to implement the concept of digitalization for construction workers by using BNI multifunctional cards.
"We are thankful to the government, especially the Ministry of PUPR, which provides an opportunity for BNI to play an active role in improving BNI digital services at IKN. We believe there are many conveniences that construction workers will be able to receive with a multifunctional card that is integrated with the digital ecosystem at IKN," he said.
As for the Ministry of PUPR, it has built 22 HPK towers which are estimated to accommodate as many as 16,000 construction workers consisting of 18 Skilled Workers Towers, 3 Expert Workers Towers, 1 PUPR Temporary Office Tower with an area of 10.58 Ha and each tower has 4 levels.
Various supporting facilities will also be prepared such as canteens, places of worship, multipurpose rooms, health clinics, laundry, banking transaction services, and several other supporting facilities so that workers can focus on working while improving the quality of Indonesian workers.
The HPK construction is a form of government attention to Indonesian workers so that they can live in decent housing and minimize the emergence of slums around the IKN.
