Bringing the Spirit of Going Global, BNI Indonesian Masters Ready to be Held

15/11/2023. BNI Indonesian Masters Presented by Tunas Niaga Energi (TNE) will be held again from November 16-19, 2023 at Royale Jakarta Golf Club which has become the home of this tournament for the eleventh time.

This weekend, BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE will be participated by elite golfers from the Asian Tour and international world, as well as the best National golfers, who are competing for a total prize of US$1.5 million or equivalent to IDR 23.5 billion.

In his opening remarks, BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said BNI Indonesian Masters is one of the biggest and most iconic golf events in Indonesia. In addition to its long history, the tournament is always able to showcase world-class players with a wide global audience.

He continued, BNI's participation as one of the main supporters of this event was to strengthen BNI's Go Global branding. Moreover, many local and international partners and investors are eager to watch this prestigious sport.

"BNI is a global bank as mandated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises. Therefore, we are certainly more proactive in encouraging branding as well as opening new global business potentials, including through this BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Tunas Niaga Energi (TNE) event,” he said.

Royke continued that the Indonesian Masters has high-end fans from the corporate and commercial segments, which is BNI's target. The Company believes this tournament provides a great opportunity for BNI to connect with new potential clients, as well as foster stronger relationships with existing clients and stakeholders.

“We also view this tournament as the right step to connect with the priority segment through BNI Emerald,” he said.

The BNI Indonesian Masters Tournament was first held in 2011, with English golfer Lee Westwood as the champion up to three times (2011, 2012 and 2015).

Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond earned the Asian Tour Order of Merit 2019 title thanks to his victory in the BNI Indonesian Masters 2019. Last year, Thai golfer Sarit Suwannarut won in his debut as part of the International Series.

This year, a number of International Series tournaments have taken place in countries such as Oman, Qatar, Thailand, Vietnam, England, and Scotland. Before taking place in Indonesia, the International Series will make a stop in Singapore in October.

Aside from Westwood (2011, 2012, 2015) and Jazz (2019), other golfers to win the Indonesian Masters are Bernd Wiesberger (2013), Anirban Lahiri (2014), Poom Saksansin (2016 & 2018), and Justin Rose (2017).
