Boosting Local Product Market, BNI Provides Vending Machines for Fostered MSMEs

31/01/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI as a state-owned bank continues to be committed to encouraging Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to upgrade their level.

One of the efforts realized is the placement of vending machines at Terminal 1A of Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, West Java.

The placement of the vending machine is a collaboration between MSMEs and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), namely BNI, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom), PT PLN (Persero), and PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) which was opened at Soekarno Hatta Airport Terminal 1, 2, and 3 on Tuesday (30/1/2024).

Present at the event were Minister of SOEs Special Staff III Arya Sinulingga, BNI Region 14 Leader Faizal Arief Setiawan, Angkasa Pura II VP Corporate Communication Cin Asmoro, Senior Manager Rumah BUMN CDC Telkom Adrian Sani Harahap, Director Telkom, PLN Executive Vice President Commerce and Marketing Fintje Lumembang, General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit Jakarta Raya Lasiran and representative of SOEs Public Relations.

In his statement, BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, this inauguration will allow BNI-fostered MSME products to be displayed in the vending machine window at Soetta Airport, making it easier for the public to make transactions.

This enables MSME products to reach a larger market while also having a longer operational sales duration through these vending machines.

"This is the result of collaboration between SOEs with the same goal, namely encouraging MSMEs to upgrade the level by expanding their markets," he stated.

Okki explained that this collaborative action is a concrete manifestation of SOEs providing larger market access to MSMEs.

According to him, having vending machines in airports is an interesting thing because it is a busy site and can attract many consumers.

"Airport is a strategic location for selling MSME products. People will find it easier to obtain MSME products if vending machines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” he explained.

Okki added that it is hoped that this collaboration can achieve the common goal of making MSMEs more successful and capable of expanding the market.

"This is the first step toward encouraging MSMEs to enter a larger market. Furthermore, in collaboration with vending machine providers, we will curate MSME products from various cities in Indonesia, so that these products can enter various vending machines around the country," he concluded.
