SOEs’ Safari Ramadan 2024 Held, Providing Cheap Staple food and Free Homecoming

25/03/2024. The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) organized a Cheap Market in the framework of the holy month of Ramadan 1445 H as well as the implementation of a form of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Safari Ramadan 2024 will be held in 40 cities/districts throughout Indonesia and is divided into three phases, with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI appointed to carry out activities in Phase 1 in East Java and Phase 3 in West Sumatra together with two other SOEs.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo shared, this Ramadan Safari activity is in line with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to support the availability of staple food in the community at affordable prices. This was done in response to the condition of the El Nino storm which had an impact on the increase in staple food prices in several regions in Indonesia.

"With the Cheap Market at the SOEs Ramadan Safari event, it is hoped that it can help the community to get food at affordable prices," he said on Monday (25/3/2024).

Okki explained, in general, the technical preparation of the cheap market has been carried out through the CSR Department with coordination through the local Regional Office where BNI conducted Cheap Market activities in Phase 1 of the Sampang area in Sampang Kota on March 24, 2024 and Phase 3 of the Solok area will be conducted in Solok on April 3, 2024.

Okki added, the existence of this Cheap Market provides an opportunity for the community to get basic needs at affordable prices and it is hoped that the needs of the community can be met during Ramadan.

In addition to the Cheap Market, an SOE-fostered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Bazaar and Free Homecoming registration were also held. At least 1,000 cheap food packages containing rice, sugar, and oil were sold at the market.

The cheap market is wrapped in the SOE Safari Ramadan 2024 activity which is a series of celebrations of the 26th Anniversary of the Ministry of SOEs.

"Hopefully this activity can provide benefits and blessings in the holy month of Ramadan for the surrounding community," said Okki.
