20/04/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI gives its highest appreciation for the brilliant achievements of Indonesian badminton athletes in two prestigious tournaments, All England 2024 and Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) 2024. This achievement is a clear proof of Indonesia's strength in the world badminton scene.
At the All England 2024, Indonesia managed to bring home two titles. Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto successfully defended the men's doubles title, defeating Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik from Malaysia. Meanwhile, Jonatan Christie came out as the men's singles champion in the all Indonesian Final defeating Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
Jojo’s success, Jonatan Christie’s nickname, continued at BAC 2024, where the only Indonesian representative who competed in the final round managed to beat the host representative, Li Shi Feng and won the men's singles title.
BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar expressed his pride and appreciation for the achievements of the athletes. "This achievement is not only prideful, but also shows that Indonesia has extraordinary talent in badminton," Royke said.
This brilliant achievement, said Royke, is clear evidence of BNI's commitment and hard work in supporting the progress and achievements of national badminton. BNI's support is consistent with the company's vision and mission of being a leading bank in the country and go global, as well as making the nation proud in the international arena.
BNI Full Support
BNI's support does not stop there, on April 27 to May 5, Indonesian badminton athletes will again compete in the Thomas & Uber Cup 2024 in Chengdu, China.
Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), is committed to providing full support to the Thomas & Uber Cup team 2024 to once again make the nation proud.
" BNI is delighted to be part of the Thomas & Uber Cup Team 2024 once again. We are confident that this team will be able to bring back the Thomas and Uber Cups to Indonesia," Royke said.
Royke emphasized that BNI continues to be committed to supporting the development of the world of sports, especially badminton, so that it will increasingly excel in the national and international arena. This support is on track with the company's focus on BNI Go Global.
"We hope that BNI's support can provide enthusiasm and motivation for the Thomas & Uber Cup Team 2024 athletes to achieve the best achievements. We also invite all Indonesian people to provide support and prayers to this team," Royke added.
Royke also hopes that BNI's support for PBSI can continue and bring Indonesian badminton to the peak of achievement.
"Let's keep fighting together to bring the name of Indonesia to jump even higher. Together, we will witness the rise of Indonesian sports on the world stage," Royke said.
PBSI's Two Big Duties
Meanwhile, Secretary General of PBSI Central Management Muhammad Fadil Imran said, this year PBSI is faced with two big duties. Apart from winning the Thomas & Uber Cup 2024, PBSI is also determined to maintain the tradition of Olympic gold at the Paris Olympics 2024.
According to Fadil, PBSI cannot work alone so it must collaborate with various parties to succeed in this duty. One of them is forming an ad hoc team filled with badminton legends, practitioners and professionals in fields related to athlete performance such as performance analysis and psychologists.
"The collaboration between PBSI and this ad hoc team is fully supported by BNI. So I would like to thank BNI for consistently showing their support and commitment to Indonesian badminton," said Fadil.
With neat cooperation and synergy between BNI, PBSI, and all other stakeholders, Fadil believes that the Indonesian badminton team will achieve brilliant achievements at the Thomas & Uber Cup 2024 including the Paris Olympics 2024.
For the Thomas & Uber Cup 2024, Indonesia will send ten of its best badminton players in each number. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and Alwi Farhan will join the Indonesian Thomas squad in the men's singles, while Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin will compete in the men's doubles.
While the Indonesian Uber Team contains a combination of senior players and young players. They are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, and Ruzana for women's singles, as well as Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari, and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose in women's doubles.
Fadil added that the Thomas & Uber Cup is a symbol of the supremacy of the world's men's and women's team badminton event. Returning the two trophies to the country, he continued, is the dream of all Indonesians.
"So let us devote all of our strength, energy, and ability to achieving this goal. Give your all, unwavering spirit, battling strength, and don't be scared. Let's make the Red and White proud because #KitaIndonesia," Fadil concluded.
