16/08/2024. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI through the BNI Xpora program departed five Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). They come from the food and beverage product category to participate in trade shows in Hong Kong.
The trade show named Indonesia in HK - Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Food Expo 2024 is the result of collaboration between BNI Hong Kong Overseas Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Consulate General of Hong Kong and the Ministry of Commerce through the Hong Kong Trade Consulate. The exhibitors are food and beverage industry businesses from various countries.
HKTDC Food Expo 2024 is Hong Kong's largest food exhibition held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Thursday - Saturday, August 15 - 17, 2024.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo conveyed, BNI Xpora made this exhibition as one of the accesses to attract business partners or potential buyers for Indonesian SMEs, especially those assisted by BNI Xpora in reaching the global market.
“The SMEs bring product samples to be exhibited so that potential buyers can experience the product directly,” he said.
Okki explained, the SMEs departure to the HKTDC Food Expo 2024 exhibition had been preceded by a series of curation and requirements requested by the organizers. Curation conducted so that these products are in accordance with the Hong Kong market and other Asian countries.
In addition, the company provides business matching facilities for the SMEs and potential buyers, which will be assisted by the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong.
This is expected to encourage the SMEs and potential buyers to get to the business negotiation stage until a regular Business to Business (B2B) sale and purchase transaction occurs.
“This is an opportunity for the SMEs to get investors directly,” said Okki.
He said BNI's participation in the exhibition is a form of the company's commitment in supporting SMEs Go Global as well as the continuation of synergy and collaboration between the government and MSMEs to promote Indonesian products in the global market.
BNI has previously participated in departing its fostered SMEs to various international exhibitions, including Food Expo 2024 Japan in March 2024, then in April 2024, BNI Xpora also departed its fostered SME products to the Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2024 event in Amsterdam - Netherlands, Specialty Coffee Expo in Chicago - USA, and 'Indonesia in SG' in Singapore.
It was followed by including SME products in the Seoul Food Hotel Expo 'Indonesia in Korea' exhibition in June 2024. In early August 2024, BNI Xpora again departed its fostered SMEs to a trade show in New York - USA through the Shoppe Object 2024 event.
After Indonesia in HK - HKTDC Food Expo 2024, BNI Xpora will continue a series of participation in various other international exhibitions to support Indonesian SMEs Go Global.
“We are committed to continuing to oversee local SMEs so that they can expand their markets to international markets through BNI Xpora,” he concluded.
