PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI and PT Blue Bird Tbk have officially established a strategic collaboration to implement the QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) digital payment system in more than 17,500 Bluebird fleets.
This step is part of an effort to expand the adoption of digital payments in the transportation sector, making it easier for users to make non-cash transactions while traveling. Users can also enjoy this service through the wondr by BNI application, which was just launched on July 5, 2024.
BNI Retail Digital Solutions Senior Executive Vice President Rian Eriana Kaslan explained that this collaboration shows BNI's commitment to supporting digital transformation in Indonesia, especially in the transportation sector.
"With QRIS throughout the Bluebird fleet, we hope to improve customer convenience while encouraging more adoption of digital payment systems. Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that QRIS transactions recorded significant growth in the last year, reaching 226.54%." said Rian.
In addition, BNI provides a 20% cashback promo for users of the Wondr by BNI application with a minimum transaction of IDR 50,000,-, thereby providing more benefits for consumers who use this service.
In this collaboration, BNI also does branding on the rear window of Bluebird taxis by displaying promotions for the wondr by BNI application, in order to increase public awareness of the convenience offered by the application. This application facilitates various banking transactions such as transfers, bill payments, e-wallet top-ups, and investments.
PT Blue Bird Tbk President Director Adrianto Djokosoetono added that this collaboration is a strategic step to remain relevant to the growing needs of consumers.
"Ease of transaction is part of the Indonesian Comfort Standard (SNI) mobility service. With QRIS BNI, Bluebird offers a more practical and easy mobility experience for customers, in line with our digital transformation pillar, namely Multi-Payment," explained Adrianto.
In addition, the implementation of non-cash payments with QRIS BNI will also be applied in Cititrans, Bluebird's intercity shuttle service. This collaboration complements the previous collaboration between BNI and Bluebird, which includes managing the cashless ecosystem internally in Bluebird through Cash Management and API Services, placing CRM ATMs in several Bluebird pools, and opening BNI and TapCash savings for drivers.
Both BNI and Bluebird are committed to continuing to innovate in providing the best experience for users, while strengthening the increasingly growing digital ecosystem in Indonesia.
