Information Technology SEVP of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI Victor Erico Korompis received the Best CIO of the Year award from the ASEAN Fintech Awards for his technological innovations that emphasize the success of BNI's digital transformation. The award was announced as part of the ASEAN Fintech Forum, Southeast Asia's leading platform for financial technology leaders.

The ASEAN Fintech Awards 2025 recognizes organizations and individuals who have made a significant impact in shaping the future of finance in Southeast Asia. The award highlights excellence in innovation, sustainability, financial inclusion, digital transformation and leadership across the fintech ecosystem.
Victor Korompis' CIO of the Year award puts BNI in line with other leading financial institutions in ASEAN who have also won awards in various categories such as Maybank and CIMB Malaysia, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation and East West Bank from the Philippines, Trust Bank in Singapore and various other influential figures in regional banks.
The ASEAN FIntech Forum received nearly 116 submissions from across ASEAN mainly from banks, with some entries submitted by vendors on behalf of the banks. The initial selection was done by banking and fintech analysts with a focus on unique initiatives. The submissions were also validated and verified by a jury of mostly former bankers and regulators.
“These awards serve as a platform not only to celebrate achievements but also to inspire the wider ecosystem to continue innovating beyond boundaries,” said Cyrus Daruwala, Chairman of ASEAN Forum in an official statement.
