PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has confirmed that the process of refunding funds to customers of the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union (CU) in North Sumatra has been fully completed.
BNI’s Director of Human Capital & Compliance, Munadi Herlambang, confirmed that BNI has transferred funds totaling IDR21,257,360,600 to the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union, supplementing the previous repayment of IDR7,000,000,000.
“The total funds returned to the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union reached IDR28,257,360,600. This completes the entire reimbursement process,” Munadi said at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
On this occasion, BNI offered its deepest apologies to the public, particularly the Catholic community and all members of the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union, for the distress and impact caused by this incident.
This project was completed ahead of schedule; while it had originally been slated for completion on Friday (4/24/2026) however, it was successfully delivered earlier, on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
Munadi emphasized that this resolution is the result of collaboration among multiple parties to ensure the process runs smoothly and to provide certainty for the affected customers.
BNI would also like to express its gratitude for the patience and cooperation of all parties throughout this process.
“We view this process as a joint effort to resolve the issue amicably. Our focus is on ensuring that the resolution proceeds smoothly and provides certainty for all parties,” Munadi concluded.
