BNI Introduces 80th Anniversary Logo, a Symbol of Service to the Nation

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, introduced its 80th anniversary logo as a symbol of the company's long journey in serving the Indonesian people. The logo represents BNI's spirit of dedication, collaboration, and commitment to continuously supporting the financial needs of people across generations.

Entering its eighth decade in 2026, BNI reaffirms its role as the nation's first state-owned national bank, continuing to grow alongside the nation. For 80 years, BNI has served not only as a financial services provider but also as a community partner in various aspects of life, from saving and establishing businesses to achieving various financial goals.

BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan said the 80th anniversary celebrations are a moment for the company to reflect on its long journey of service to the nation and strengthen its commitment to providing services that are relevant to the community's needs.

"Turning 80 years old is not just an achievement, but a mandate to continue providing broader benefits to society. Through the 80th anniversary logo, we want to present a more humanistic interpretation of how BNI's values of service are present in the daily lives of Indonesians," said Putrama in a written statement.

Putrama explained that BNI's history is inextricably linked to its founding on July 5, 1946, when Indonesia was building the foundations of its government and economic sovereignty after independence. In that context, R.M. Margono Djojohadikusumo initiated the establishment of a nationally owned bank as part of an effort to strengthen Indonesia's economic self-esteem.

"BNI was born from a spirit of struggle and the belief that this nation needed its own bank. From the beginning, BNI has not only been present to carry out banking functions but has also been part of efforts to build Indonesia's economic self-esteem," said Putrama.

As the first bank owned by the Republic of Indonesia, BNI played a role in issuing the Republic of Indonesia Currency (ORI), a symbol of the nation's economic sovereignty. Since then, BNI has continued to grow, following Indonesia's journey, maintaining this spirit of dedication in its services to the community.

This spirit continues to live on in BNI's service culture today, both through business strategies, service innovations, and the role of BNI employees who serve the community directly in various sectors.

These values of service and closeness to the community are what BNI then translated into its 80th anniversary visual identity. The logo represents the number 80 as a symbol of age, the journey, and the commitment to service that has been consistently carried out for eight decades.

The number 8 is central to the philosophy because it resembles the symbol of infinity when viewed horizontally, representing a spirit of service that moves without stopping. Meanwhile, the number 0 symbolizes wholeness and continuity, reflecting a service space that is always open to meet the needs of the community.

The combination of these two numbers emphasizes BNI's 80th anniversary as a significant milestone in its journey and the beginning of broader and more sustainable service delivery. This philosophy aligns with BNI's commitment to continuously grow with the community and provide solutions that add value to the nation's progress.

This sense of devotion is also reflected in the logo's visual elements, which depict a flowing, dynamic path. This element represents BNI's motto, Swadharma Bhakti Nagara, which means to serve the nation through the best work and service for the Indonesian people.

In addition to depicting the value of service, the 80th anniversary logo also reflects the ongoing collaboration between BNI, the community, business partners, and various stakeholders. The relationships built over time serve as a crucial foundation for creating inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

BNI believes that the logo’s philosophy aligns with the company’s commitment to delivering innovations and financial solutions that adapt to the changing times. From generation to generation, BNI continues to strive to maintain the public’s trust through professional, relevant services that provide tangible benefits.

Visually, the use of yellow-orange gradients in the logo symbolizes the energy, optimism, and warmth that characterize BNI’s service to the public. The turquoise blue color represents trust, stability, and professionalism as the foundation of the long-term relationship between BNI and its customers.

Moving forward, the 80th Anniversary logo will serve as the primary visual identity in BNI’s various communication, promotional, and publication activities, as well as in its collaborations with partners. The logo is expected to reinforce the message that BNI continues to embody the value of service through the spirit of “Serving with All Our Hearts.”

“His presence is expected to reinforce the message that, over the past eight decades, BNI has not only grown as a banking institution but has also continued to embody the value of service through the spirit of ‘Serving Wholeheartedly’ for the advancement of society, the economy, and Indonesia,” said Putrama. Marking its 80th anniversary, BNI reaffirms its commitment to upholding the Swadharma Bhakti Nagara philosophy by providing relevant, inclusive, and sustainable financial solutions. BNI pledges to continue serving the public and supporting Indonesia’s progress, for both current and future generations.
