BNI Strengthens Support for MSMEs Thru Productive Credit and Digital Innovation

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, continues to strengthen its support for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector thru the distribution of productive credit and digital service innovations. This step aligns with the Financial Services Authority's (OJK) policy, which is preparing new regulations requiring banks to include their SME financing targets in their Business Plans (RBB).

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the new regulation is expected to strengthen the role of banking in expanding access to financing while maintaining credit quality.

"With this policy in place, banks, including BNI, will be further encouraged to provide more inclusive financing to MSMEs," said Okki in a written statement.

BNI's consistency in supporting MSMEs is reflected in its continued positive credit performance. In the first semester of 2025, non-KUR MSME credit disbursement grew 9.2% year-on-year (YoY) to IDR44.4 trillion. This achievement reflects the strong demand for financing from the MSME sector, which the company has been able to manage soundly.

To maintain credit quality, BNI focuses on productive sectors such as trade, services, agriculture, industry, and fisheries. Supply chain strategies and a closed-loop transaction ecosystem are also utilized to ensure smooth market access and cash flow for MSMEs, while simultaneously building long-term support.

Digital innovation is also one of BNI's main pillars in supporting the MSME sector. BNI presents the BNIdirect Business platform, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of simple, fast, and integrated digital financial services for MSMEs.

With the tagline #BisnisGakRibet, this platform offers an intuitive interface and easy features to help business owners manage their finances more efficiently. BNIdirect Business offers high flexibility tailored to the characteristics of small businesses, addressing the challenges of banking digitalization often perceived as complex by MSME actors.

"With an inclusive strategy, productive sector-based financing, and digital innovation, BNI will continue to support MSMEs so they can grow sustainably and increase their contribution to the national economy," concluded Okki.

This step by BNI is concrete proof banking’s active involvement in promoting financial inclusion and strengthening the national economic foundation thru the empowerment of MSMEs.
