BNI Strengthens Stunting Prevention Program on National Children's Day

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, strengthens its stunting prevention program through a number of social initiatives throughout 2026. These efforts are part of the company’s contribution to improving children’s health and supporting the realization of the Golden Generation of Indonesia 2045.

The program is run under through bank’s corporate social and environmental umbrella of BNI Berbagi. Implementation has been carried out in phases since early 2026 and will continue through the end of the year, focusing on nutrition, family education, sanitation, and strengthening public health services.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that stunting prevention is one of the focuses of the company's social programs because child growth and development during the first 1,000 days of life is an important foundation for the quality of human resources.

"BNI believes every Indonesian child has the right to a healthy start in life so they can grow and develop optimally," Okki said in a written statement coinciding with National Children's Day 2026.

He views that fulfilling children's rights to health, nutrition, and adequate care requires collaboration between the government, the business world, health workers, and the community.

"Through BNI Berbagi, we continue to strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders to support the acceleration of stunting reduction as part of our contribution to realizing Indonesia's Golden Generation 2045," he said.

One of the programs being implemented is the Foster Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting - Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting, or GENTING, in Riau Province. This program is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Population and Family Development/National Population and Family Planning Agency.

BNI also implements the Healthy, Stunting-Free Villages Program in four villages in Pangalengan Sub-Regency, Bandung Regency. The program combines nutritional interventions with family education, sanitation improvements, promotion of clean and healthy living habits, and improvements to living conditions.

This approach is designed to ensure that efforts to address stunting do not focus solely on providing food assistance, but also address environmental factors, parenting practices, and community access to health services.

“In keeping with the spirit of National Children's Day, we hope that more and more Indonesian children will have the opportunity to grow up healthy, develop to their full potential, and become an outstanding generation,” said Okki.

The stunting prevention program is also part of BNI’s efforts to embody the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara in celebration of its 80th anniversary. Through ongoing collaboration, BNI hopes these efforts will bring greater benefits to families and support the development of a healthy, productive, and competitive generation.
