Jakarta, 1 January 2020 --- Heavy rains that hit the Jakarta area and its surroundings since Tuesday (31 December 2019) afternoon have caused flooding in various places. Some Jakartans' Home have been submerged in water, road access has been cut off, some have not even had the chance to save valuables and important daily needs, including food or clothing.
As a form of caring for others, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) provides various clothing and food needs for flood victims. This assistance is expected to relieve flood victims in the early days of the disaster.
The Corporate Secretary of BNI, Meiliana said, BNI provides clothing, blankets and worship equipment. Not only clothing, BNI also hopes that the health of flood victims is maintained by providing medicines to the completeness of the babies.
"The flood disaster certainly made it difficult for the community to prepare food. BNI prepared and distributed ready-to-eat food through the 1,000 Rice Box program to make it easier when consuming it," said Meiliana.
In addition to channeling aid to several refugee posts, BNI also opened a Public Kitchen tent. This emergency facility was prepared in one of the BNI branch offices closest to the location of the flood in the East Jakarta area, in this case BNI Branch Office Jatinegara.
"BNI is concerned about the flood victims. Hopefully this flood can soon be resolved," concluded Meiliana.
