Jakarta, 2 September 2020 - Covid-19 is still endemic today and encourages people to protect themselves with a series of strict health protocols, from maintaining distance to reducing activities with many people within one place. For this reason, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI uses a digital e-proxy platform developed by the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) through the eASY.KSEI system and provided live streaming in holding an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on Wednesday, 2 September 2020. The EGMS was chaired by the President Commissioner of BNI, Agus Dermawan Wintarto Martowardojo.
Through the digital platform, BNI not only follows the trend of using the latest electronic communication facilities, but also fulfills the protocol required in the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) program in Indonesia to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Through the eASY.KSEI platform, shareholders can authorize to be present and have a voice at BNI EGMS. The use of eASY.KSEI is expected to increase the participation of all shareholders to attend GMS anywhere. With this mechanism, one of the basic rights of shareholders, namely to be present and vote at a GMS, remains fulfilled in accordance with the provisions of limited liability company and capital market. So that shareholders remain well informed and can decide strategic matters which are the authority of GMS.
On this 2 September, BNI held EGMS with the agenda of Management Change. The presence of shareholders is also a concern of the company by continuing to implement and maintain the health and safety of these shareholders. The Company divides several places for shareholders who remain physically present by paying attention to room capacity and distance. In addition, the company provides live streaming of the GMS implementation for shareholders who cannot physically present.
