BNI Digital Solution Drives CASA Growth

8/11/2023. The digital transformation carried out by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has shown positive results. With innovative digital solutions through BNI Mobile Banking and BNIDirect, the company has succeeded in encouraging the growth of Current Account Savings Account (CASA) which has a positive impact on reducing the cost of funds (CoF).

As for the third quarter of 2023, BNI Mobile Banking transactions were recorded to grow by 54% Year-on-Year (YoY) to reach IDR 874 trillion. Similar positive performance was also recorded in Cash Management transactions which grew by 38% YoY to reach IDR 5,017 trillion thanks to BNIDirect.

The positive performance of BNI's digital channel has pushed the company's CASA to a ratio of 68.6%. This achievement helps BNI to maintain CoF which is currently at around 2%, which is a structurally lower level compared to before the pandemic which reached more than 3%.

BNI Digital & Integrated Transaction Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said the company has digital solutions that make customers more comfortable transacting and placing their funds in the company, especially CASA.

“This has a positive impact on strengthening liquidity indicators, as well as increasing the company's ability to provide financing that supports sustainable performance in the long term,” she said.

Corina went on to say that BNI Mobile Banking, which is being employed as a One Stop Financial Solution for retail consumers, is considered to be capable of meeting a wide range of customer financial service needs, from payment transactions to investments, and even beyond banking services, particularly in terms of lifestyle.

“The success of BNI Mobile Banking proves that the company is on the right track in shifting customer transaction services towards digital,” he said.

Furthermore, he continued, there is also the BNIDirect platform which is a complete solution for business customers. Not only providing superior features, the company also focuses on attractive programs for BNI customers, including the BNIDirect transaction acceleration program and other programs that support transaction growth and increase customer loyalty.

"The condition of CASA is indeed a major concern for us. Therefore, we will continue to strengthen digital channels, especially BNI Mobile Banking and BNIDirect, for CASA-based transaction growth going forward,” he added.
